I call myself a lifelong learner because I love to learn from study but also from others. I have been collecting knowledge and wisdom my whole life. I believe that all of the things we have learned are to be shared instead of just stored. I am intrigued by how things work, how people think and the depth of God. Please scroll down and learn more about my current projects and share with me yours. I look forward to connecting with you!
Latest projects
I'm so excited to introduce my latest project: Nature Unveiled: 40 Reflections on Experiencing God's Creation. This book has been a dream of mine for 20 years. As a child, God began wooing my heart through the natural world - through the beauty I saw around me. This led me to pursue a degree in Environmental Biology, another in Natural Resources and to work in the field of Forestry. The more time I spent listening to the Father, the more He shared connections between His heart and the beautiful science around me. He brought connections to life that ministered to my longing soul. This book was born from those conversations.
new science resource
40 curated science resources are now available for teachers, students, and curious minds. These exciting online resources will enhance the science discussed in Nature Unveiled. The cream of the crop resources were selected to instruct and inspire. Warning: You may lose hours of your life searching for answers to new questions that arise. My goal in creating this resource was to “Curate Curiosity” about science and the Designer. Three of the Forty resources are free on my Teachers Pay Teachers website.
Beauty Within
Illustrator - Stacey Barr
Illustrator - Stacey Barr
Growing up in a small lake town of upstate New York, Stacey Barr found her love for nature, art and Jesus. Drawing from these joys she pursued art school where she partook in many of the fine arts, majoring in painting while also enjoying art history, printmaking, and especially drawing. She began that journey at SUNY Cortland and completed her B.S. in studio art at The College of St. Rose, where she also completed classes in art education and graphic design. With art always in her heart she pursued it wherever she was, painting murals, creating logo designs, and drawing commissioned pieces. While living in Maine she began an art school for K -12 homeschool students that continued and grew even with her transition to Tennessee. She was invited to begin an art club and curate an art gallery at her church in Tennessee, as well as complete her own God-inspired pastel drawings during productions and musical worship sessions. Her dream from 7th grade to illustrate a book is being realized here with this book, and she will be keeping busy with other illustrating requests waiting on her. Stacey now resides on 16 acres in Chapel Hill, where her amazing husband and four beautiful children are surrounded and inspired by God's creation daily. Contact: staceymarie32@gmail.com

JILL SMITH is a writer and speaker with a deep love for nature. She earned her B.S. in environmental biology from Taylor University and her M.S. in natural resources from Ball State University. She moved to Nashville, TN, with her husband where she worked as a forester at Warner Parks, one of the country's largest city parks. While there she managed fields and forests, wrote articles for Wildland Weeds and the Tennessee Conservationist, and developed educational programs for children and adults.
After leaving forestry and becoming a full-time mother, Jill began journaling about the connections between scripture and creation. She returned to forestry as the executive director of the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council and helped spread tree education throughout Tennessee by developing community arboreta. When not writing and speaking, Jill loves to hike, walk dogs, work in her garden, and help others ditch chemical cleaning with her Norwex business. She lives in Nashville, TN, with her husband and two teenage sons.
